The Marimba Education Development Centre
In collaboration with The Marimba Education Development Centre every year, marimba players from different schools gather for GIAMARI Marimba camps. The camps run for a minimum of 3 days in different parts of the country over the years. One of the camp sites was the magnificent Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.
These marimba camps have proved to be an essential activity for integrating diverse skills and a social networking facility for Marimba players in different countries. Participants continue to pour in from different countries to enjoy our camps.
GIAMARI Marimba Camp programs are diversified to meet different tastes depending on the theme of the year. The main areas of Marimba Education are; Marimba Dexterity, Marimba Phrasing, Compositional Skills, Listening & Analysis, Stage Management, Repertoire Preparation, Stage Behaviour, Practice Management among others. This is all based on the GIAMARI Marimba Syllabus; The Foundation Course in Marimba Education. In addition, students benefit immensely as they are counselled on a wide spectrum of tropical issues affecting their lives as growing children. These include but not limited to Drug & Substance Abuse, Defensive Driving, Sex Education including Self-Discipline, Stress Management, Peer Pressure Management, Rules of Politeness, The Sense of Decorum, Protocol and Etiquette.
Alternatively, institutions can request GIAMARI experts to camp in their institutions through a special arrangement.

The Global Institute Of African Marimba Rhythm Initiative is excited to offer two main syllabi which are a universal therapy to Marimba Players. We have the Foundation Course in Marimba Education that caters for players of any age from grassroots levels and The Certificate In Marimba Education and Performance which caters for players who want to go professional in terms of marimba teaching, performing, manufacturing and management.
We have an academic approach to Marimba Education for intellectual development such that at the end of a given time period, a marimba player performs intellectually better in integrated and overall terms. This is because of the various thinking and cognitive skills that marimba playing demands resulting in the activation of other mental operations that would have remained shut without being exposed to marimba playing. Additionally, students playing marimbas have their physical fitness and flexibility always in top form. In early childhood development, marimba playing is critical in building motor skills as well as the cognitive forte.
Marimba players from GIAMARI network have become the backbone of African Marimba in the world with most of them having taken influential positions in various universities and institutions around the globe.
Since 2002, The Global Institute Of African Marimba Rhythm Initiative, under Kutinya Arts, has established a very strong custom of touring Europe with Germany being the base from which operations to other European countries are launched. Netherlands, France, Belgium, Austria and United Kingdom among other countries form part of our comprehensive tours in Europe. These trips are well profiled. Under The Flagship of Kutinya Arts, we are a regular feature at Berlin Karnival Der Kulturin (Berlin Carnival of Culture), thanks to Ahoi Events.
We have always made it a point that touring bands exploit Europe by visiting prestigious places. The most captivating experience is the visit to the Airbus manufacturing plant in Hamburg. Other sight seeing excursions take place at one of the highest Church Towers of the World; The Cologne Dome where the biblical three wise men were interred. More places of interest include the sites in Berlin such as The Fernsehen Turm in Alexanderplatz, The Technische Museum, Bundestag and the Brandenberg Gate, The Berlin Wall and the Holocaust Memorial Museum. We have also afforded the touring bands opportunities to cheer their favourite Bundesliga teams live in action by visiting Veltins Arena in Gelsenkirchen to watch Schalke play various teams and Olympic Stadium in Belrin to watch Hertha B.S.C. in action. Historical sites including castles such as Marksburg have proved to be an utmost source not only of information but also of entertainment. Many other sites outside Germany have been explored, these include The Disneyland and The Eiffel Tower as well as the European Union Parliament in France and many others.The
We have created a long-standing relationship with many schools in Germany, England, and Sweden among many other countries around the world. Many of our students have interacted with counterparts in Europe in real classroom situations. This has provided an opportunity for our students to interface with fellow students of diverse race and culture.
